Lottie Moss, known for her appearance on Netflix’s Celebrity Bear Hunt, has revealed the challenges she faced while undergoing a cosmetic dental procedure to transform her smile. The model and social media influencer recently shared her experience with fans, offering a glimpse into the painful reality of her smile makeover.
In an episode of her podcast Dream On with Lottie Moss, the 27-year-old disclosed that she had opted for composite bonding—a popular cosmetic treatment designed to enhance the appearance of teeth. The process, which involves applying a resin to the surface of natural teeth for a whiter, straighter smile, did not go as smoothly as she had hoped.
“I thought it was going to be great, starting the new year with a perfect smile,” Moss explained. However, the procedure was marred by complications. After the treatment, she developed a gum infection, which led to significant swelling in her face. “I looked like a chipmunk, like Quasimodo. It was so bad. I couldn’t leave my house for a week,” she admitted, emphasizing the painful aftermath.
Composite bonding is considered a minimally invasive alternative to veneers, and it’s gaining popularity among those seeking a quick fix for uneven or discolored teeth. However, Moss noted that the procedure can be problematic for individuals with misaligned teeth, as it requires several layers of resin to create a uniform appearance, which can make the teeth appear bulky.
Moss underwent the procedure at Chelsea Dental Clinic under the guidance of renowned dentist Dr. Rhona Eskander. While the results are striking, with Moss now sporting a dazzling new smile, Dr. Eskander highlighted that composite bonding is best suited for those with naturally straight teeth. In Moss’s case, the procedure helped perfect the size and color of her teeth, making them more uniform and aesthetically pleasing.
Despite the rough start, Moss has since embraced her new smile and remains transparent with her followers about the ups and downs of the cosmetic journey. Her experience serves as a reminder that even minor cosmetic procedures can come with unexpected challenges.
