The Indian Centre for Sight (CFS) has launched the AMARIS 1050RS LASIK laser system, featuring the advanced Foresight software, promising vision correction in under ten seconds per eye. This groundbreaking technology provides heightened precision, real-time eye tracking, and faster recovery, marking a major advancement in refractive surgery.
Dr. Mahipal S. Sachdev, Chairman and Medical Director at CFS, emphasized the system’s remarkable capability to track eye movements 1050 times per second, ensuring unparalleled accuracy. It also allows surgeons to predict the post-operative shape of the cornea, improving treatment precision. The procedure, performed using only anesthetic eye drops, is capable of correcting a wide range of refractive errors, including myopia, hyperopia, and astigmatism.
In addition to LASIK, CFS is leveraging Foresight-driven solutions such as TREK and TCAT to address keratoconus, a corneal disorder. TREK allows for the simultaneous removal of both epithelium and stroma, optimizing corneal reshaping while preserving healthy tissue. Meanwhile, TCAT utilizes detailed corneal mapping for precise correction of irregular corneas, reducing the need for specialized contact lenses.
Dominic von Planta, CEO of Schwind Eye-Tech Solutions, praised the AMARIS 1050’s 7D eye-tracking system, highlighting its ability to deliver safe, fast, and customized treatments tailored to each patient’s unique eye structure.
