Dr. Sean McNally, a prominent plastic surgeon known for his insight into celebrity transformations, recently spoke about country music icon Carrie Underwood’s changing appearance, a topic that has sparked widespread fan speculation.
The same expert who helped explain Melania Trump’s famously sculpted look, Dr. McNally weighed in on Underwood’s “changing face,” which has led many to wonder about potential cosmetic procedures. However, the plastic surgeon clarified that Underwood’s evolving appearance might not be the result of major surgical alterations.
“First, it’s essential to remember that Carrie had a serious accident in 2017,” Dr. McNally remarked, referring to the accident that led to the singer undergoing reconstructive surgery on her face. Following her fall, Underwood required over 40 stitches to repair the damage, leaving a scar that runs from her left nostril to her upper lip.
Underwood’s appearance has drawn even more attention after her performance at Donald Trump’s second inauguration in January, alongside a viral moment where footage showed her avoiding a handshake with Vice President Kamala Harris. These incidents have sparked new waves of curiosity and commentary about the singer’s changing looks.
Despite the buzz, Dr. McNally emphasized that there are no clear signs of significant cosmetic surgery. “After reviewing before-and-after photos, I don’t see any evidence of surgery beyond her well-known reconstructive procedure,” he explained.
While Dr. McNally acknowledged some noticeable differences around Underwood’s eyes and lips, he attributed these changes to simpler treatments, such as lip fillers and makeup improvements, rather than invasive surgery. He noted, “She looks notably different around the eyes and lips, but this could be attributed to basic cosmetic enhancements.”
The plastic surgeon also suggested that Underwood is likely following a disciplined skincare routine and relying on non-invasive treatments to maintain her youthful appearance. “I have no doubt she’s keeping up with a solid skincare regimen and possibly using non- or minimally-invasive treatments, which is common among celebrities in Hollywood and the music industry.”
However, when it comes to more drastic procedures like facelifts or rhinoplasty, Dr. McNally was firm in his assessment: “A major surgery like that? I don’t think so,” he told.
