Johnson & Johnson MedTech has appointed Shawn Millerick as the new president of Vision Care for the Americas, a role that will see him lead the company’s efforts to define strategy and drive growth within its North and Latin American Vision Care portfolio, including the renowned ACUVUE contact lens brand.
Millerick, who is set to prioritize digital transformation in the business, will work closely with customers and eye care professionals to improve patient outcomes. His appointment is expected to play a key role in the continued success and expansion of Johnson & Johnson’s vision care division.
Peter Menziuso, Company Group Chairman of Vision at Johnson & Johnson MedTech, expressed confidence in Millerick’s leadership, stating, “I am thrilled to have Shawn onboard leading our Vision Care business across North America and LATAM. His exceptional leadership and deep expertise will serve as a transformative catalyst for our future growth.”
With a background rich in vision care and commercial strategy, Millerick brings extensive experience to the role. His career has been marked by a focus on consumer healthcare, with significant expertise in over-the-counter (OTC) marketing, shopper marketing, and category insights.
Millerick earned his MBA from Babson College’s F.W. Olin Graduate School of Business, graduating Magna Cum Laude. Reflecting on his new role, he stated, “It is a privilege to return to the vision sector and join a team dedicated to making a positive impact in people’s lives. I am inspired by the journey ahead and the opportunity to contribute to a mission that is also deeply personal to me: Vision Made Possible.”
In addition to Millerick’s appointment, Erin Powers has been named Vice President of North America, Surgical Vision, where she will lead the business across both the United States and Canada. Powers, who brings nearly two decades of experience in the vision space, is a proven leader with strong connections within the eye health community. She has a solid track record in establishing strategic business functions, as well as developing ophthalmic and optometric market segments.
Powers has held leadership roles in numerous industry organizations, including serving as the immediate past president of the Ophthalmic World Leaders organization. She is also a member of the Board of the International Society of Refractive Surgery and has been involved in various educational initiatives and industry councils.
Powers holds an MBA from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth and the London Business School.
Together, Powers and Millerick will focus on accelerating the growth of Johnson & Johnson MedTech’s Vision Care and Surgical Vision portfolios, leveraging their combined expertise to capitalize on opportunities, synergies, and the company’s unified culture to further enhance its position in the vision sector.
