Demi Engemann, star of Hulu’s The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, recently revealed she underwent a nose job, sharing details about the cosmetic procedure with her followers on Instagram. The 30-year-old reality star had long been self-conscious about a bump on her nose and decided to undergo a partial rhinoplasty to address the issue.
“I’ve been bothered by the bump in my nose for years, so I finally decided to do something about it,” Engemann explained in her Instagram Stories post. “Dr. John Bitner did a phenomenal job,” she added, expressing complete satisfaction with the results. The mother of one posted before-and-after photos of her newly transformed nose.
Engemann, known for her openness about cosmetic procedures, previously documented her breast augmentation journey in 2024. Sharing her recovery process on social media, including TikTok videos, she even joked about her husband, Brett Engemann, being unable to touch her enhanced breasts for two weeks due to healing. She later revealed she chose high-profile 385cc implants for the surgery.
Utah’s Beauty Culture and Cosmetic Procedures
In a recent appearance on Page Six’s Virtual Reali-Tea podcast, Engemann shared her perspective on Utah’s beauty culture, offering insight into how young women in the state approach cosmetic enhancement. She noted that many Mormon Church members opt for subtle, natural-looking procedures at a young age.
“Most of us got things done before we were 20,” Engemann shared, highlighting the common trend in Utah. “It’s just the Utah way. People go for minimal procedures that keep you looking natural.”
She explained that the local beauty culture encourages enhancing specific features rather than pursuing dramatic transformations, allowing individuals to feel better about their appearance without obsessing over perceived flaws.
Cosmetic Journeys of Co-Stars
Engemann’s candidness about her cosmetic procedures aligns with the openness of her co-stars. Layla Taylor, one of the most procedure-focused cast members, underwent six treatments in just four months, including breast augmentation, rhinoplasty, tummy tuck, lip fillers, chin fillers, and Botox. Taylor, a young mother of two, shared that she turned to cosmetic surgery to rebuild her confidence after a divorce. “I had kids young and I love my babies to death, but they screwed up my body. I wanted to feel hot again,” she said on the Virtual Reali-Tea podcast. However, she’s now reconsidering her breast implants, saying they don’t fit her frame, especially for activities like wearing sports bras.
Jessi Ngatikaura took a more comprehensive approach in 2024, opting for a labiaplasty and “mommy makeover” to address changes caused by pregnancy. She scheduled both surgeries on the same day to minimize recovery time and explained, “Pregnancy kind of pushes things out, and mine decided to stay there.”
Mikayla Matthews offers a different perspective, having had her breast implants removed due to health concerns. Reflecting on the one-year anniversary of her explant surgery, Matthews shared on social media that the decision was the “beginning of getting my health back and clearing infection out of my body.”
