Shin Ji, a member of the South Korean pop group Koyote, has spoken out after receiving a wave of negative comments online about her new tattoo.
On May 18, Shin Ji shared a screenshot of several critical remarks posted to her social media. Along with the image, she wrote, “What a sight! It’s my life and my choice, so why do they act like that? Really?”
The comments included statements such as, “Why get a tattoo now when you didn’t do it when you were young?” and “All those 20 years of thinking went to waste.” Another user mocked her, saying, “Just erase it and draw it with a pen—what’s that about?”
Shin Ji recently revealed that she had gotten her first tattoo, which reads “Shin ji daeng,” on her arm. She shared that the process was painless and explained, “I thought about this for 20 years, so there’s no need to worry.”
This is not the first time Shin Ji has openly addressed changes to her appearance. Earlier, she candidly admitted to having eyelid surgery. “I don’t care. Everyone can tell, so I’ll just say it—I had a remodeling done on my eyes,” she said. “Once the swelling goes down, it’ll look almost the same as before. So please, no comments like ‘it was better before.’”
Despite the criticism, Shin Ji remains confident in her personal choices, reminding fans and critics alike that her body and image are hers to decide.
