U.S. pop star Meghan Trainor is facing mixed reactions after she changed the lyrics to her breakout hit “All About That Bass” during a recent live performance.
At a concert in California, Trainor altered the original line “It’s pretty clear, I ain’t no size two” to “It’s pretty clear, I got some new boobs.” The lyric swap comes after Trainor revealed she had breast implants earlier this year as part of a larger transformation.
The performance quickly sparked buzz online. Some fans criticized the change, saying it clashed with the original body positivity message of the 2014 hit. “She went from all about that bass to all about that fake,” one social media user commented. Another wrote, “Now that song doesn’t even make sense for her anymore.”
However, the lyric change wasn’t the only thing that drew attention. Some viewers said Trainor’s stage presence lacked energy. “She has no energy here, barely moving… so unlike her,” one fan noted. Another added, “No shade but Ozempic girlies always look low energy, are those the side effects?”
Trainor recently shared that both she and her husband have been taking Mounjaro, a medication originally designed for type 2 diabetes, to support their weight loss. She said the treatment helped suppress their appetite, but added that they continue to work out and eat healthy.
“We stay in the gym, we work out, we eat right,” she said. “We just noticed we were less hungry.”
Once celebrated as a champion of body positivity, Trainor’s shift toward weight loss medication and cosmetic surgery has surprised some fans. Others see it as a personal choice and applaud her openness.
As the conversation continues, it highlights the ongoing debate about body image, celebrity influence, and personal health choices in the public eye.
