In a recent video, actress Kriti Sanon revealed the secrets to her radiant and hydrated complexion—her simple yet effective morning skincare routine. The 7-step regimen, which combines skincare essentials like ice dunking, detox masks, and sunscreen, is easy to follow and doesn’t take much time. Kriti emphasizes the importance of using the right products to detoxify and hydrate the skin, sharing her approach to achieving a healthy glow every day.
“My morning skincare is very, very simple, and I don’t take too long with it,” Kriti says in the video. “I don’t do a mask every day, but on special days when I feel like I want to detoxify my skin, I use one.” Here’s a breakdown of her skincare steps:
Step 1: Ice Dunking
Kriti begins her morning by drinking lukewarm lemon water to hydrate her body. After washing her face with clean hands, she kicks off her routine with ice dunking. She calls ice an “underrated skincare product” that helps reduce inflammation, cleanse pores of excess oil and dirt, and energize her skin to start the day.
Step 2: Detoxifying Mask
On days when she has an early shoot or feels the need to refresh her skin, Kriti opts for a detoxifying mask. She uses a hydrating mask when she’s closer to her period, ensuring her skin remains moisturized.
Step 3: Undereye Patch
Next, Kriti applies a green tea and caffeine-infused undereye mask. She places the patches on top of her mask and lets both products sit for 15 minutes to de-puff and rejuvenate her under-eye area.
Step 4: Homemade Toner
Once the mask and patches are removed with lukewarm water and a clean cloth, Kriti sprays a homemade toner of glycerine and rose water onto her face. She highlights the benefits of glycerine, calling it an essential yet underrated product that hydrates the skin, locks in moisture, and offers antiseptic and anti-inflammatory properties.
Step 5: Serum
Following the toner, Kriti applies a serum containing key ingredients like hyaluronic acid, niacinamide, and alpha arbutin to address uneven skin tone and pigmentation. She also uses kakadu plum extract for vitamin C and aloe vera to hydrate her skin further.
Step 6: Sunscreen
Unlike many, Kriti skips a moisturizer in favor of a sunscreen that also moisturizes her skin. She emphasizes the importance of using sunscreen to protect the skin from premature aging caused by sun damage. “With sunscreen, more is more,” she says. “Don’t shy away from it—make sure to cover your entire face, neck, and eyelids, whether you’re inside or outside.”
Step 7: Lip Balm
Kriti wraps up her skincare routine with a hydrating lip balm. She reveals that she carries it everywhere, ensuring her lips stay moisturized and glossy throughout the day.
