Actor Ashnoor Kaur is taking time off from work and social media after the unexpected end of her show Suman Indori. The show, which ended last month after a seven-month run, marked her return to television after a three-year break.
Speaking about her current break, Ashnoor says, “I’m not in a rush to take on another project. I finally got my LASIK eye surgery done—it was pending for a long time.”
A Sudden Goodbye
The show’s sudden cancellation came as a shock to the team.
“We were disheartened when we got the news. It happened all of a sudden. When you’re not mentally prepared, it can feel overwhelming,” Ashnoor shared.
Despite the short run, she believes the show performed well.
“In today’s time, even shows with big names sometimes fail. Our show still managed to hold its ground. For a 6:30 pm time slot, we earned good viewership and were top in our category. What more can an actor ask for?”
Clearing the Air
Addressing speculation about her role, Ashnoor clarified that she never portrayed a mother on screen.
“From the beginning, I was clear with the team. I could play a married character, but not a mother, because I’m too young for that. When the show introduced a child’s character after a leap, I was shown as his guardian, not his mother.”
Health Comes First
Ashnoor, who has worn glasses since she was nine, is now focusing on recovery after LASIK surgery.
“It feels like I’m seeing the world in HD now!” she joked. “My doctor has advised me to avoid swimming, dusty places, and eye makeup for a month.”
For now, the actor is enjoying some well-earned rest and isn’t rushing into new work.
