On May 29, Advisor Wangpang Konyak, MLA, officially launched a week-long Eye Surgery Camp at PHC Pangsha in Noklak District. The camp, aimed at addressing vision problems, is part of the National Action Plan for Senior Citizens (NAPSrC) and received support from Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF), Mercy Eye Centre Dimapur, and ECS. The initiative attracted patients from various regions, including those from across the border.
In a press release shared by N. Loipang, the PA to the MLA, Konyak also inaugurated the District Program Officer (DPO) Office in Noklak Town. Following this, he held an interactive session with the public and district officials at the Deputy Commissioner’s Conference Hall.
During the session, Konyak stressed the importance of raising public awareness and encouraging active participation in various welfare schemes managed by the Department of Social Welfare. He emphasized the need for better coordination between the department and the district administration to ensure the effective delivery of services.
Acknowledging the infrastructural challenges faced by Noklak, a newly established district, Konyak assured the public of the Nagaland government’s commitment to equitable development. He also visited local anganwadi centres and interacted with frontline workers to better understand the ground realities.
