Rapper Sexyy Red, known for her hit “SkeeYee,” has caused a stir on social media after revealing that she underwent a second breast augmentation surgery in early January. The announcement, shared across her social media platforms, has sparked widespread reactions from fans, particularly within Black Twitter.
On January 9, the rapper took to X (formerly Twitter) to share a post showing herself in a hospital gown. In the caption, she wrote, “I’m goin back big” alongside a reference to her desire for a larger chest. The announcement surprised many, as she had previously undergone breast augmentation in 2024.
Later that day, she followed up with an Instagram story where she expressed her gratitude toward Dr. Marcelo Ghersi, a Florida-based plastic surgeon, for performing the successful procedure. “My chest look so much better thank you @drghersi you literally dat,” she shared.
According to reports, the decision for the second surgery was motivated by ongoing back pain and difficulties with clothing fitting properly. Sources close to the rapper clarified that she wasn’t drastically increasing her breast size, but rather addressing the physical issues caused by her earlier augmentation.
The following day, January 10, Sexyy posted a video showing her recovery, complete with a surgical bra and bandages. In the clip, she humorously referenced the cost of the procedure, joking, “Yal some hater 30K on boobs top notch [sic].”
The rapper’s candid sharing of her transformation did not go unnoticed, attracting attention from fans and celebrities alike. During an Instagram Live with fellow rapper GloRilla, Sexyy commented that her breast reduction surgery had made her look like rapper 50 Cent. This prompted 50 Cent to post the clip on his own Instagram, humorously asking, “How did I get in this sh*t LOL.” His followers joined in, laughing along with the exchange.
While some social media users expressed positive sentiments, focusing on Sexyy’s message of self-love and body positivity, others took a more critical stance. One user, @montewhiteiam, praised the rapper for encouraging fans to embrace their individuality despite negative comments. “Sharing her transformation online, emphasized self-love and dismissed negative comments,” the user wrote, acknowledging the rapper’s stance on body positivity.
On the other hand, some were concerned about her post-surgery activities, with user @Biancaworlddd calling her actions “reckless” and urging her to focus on resting and recovery.
Despite the differing opinions, Sexyy Red has remained unapologetic in her approach, continuing to use her platform to spark conversations about body image and personal choices. Whether praised or criticized, she is determined to make decisions that feel right for her.
Sexyy Red’s journey serves as a reminder of the ongoing dialogue surrounding body image, self-love, and the power of personal choice in the public eye.
