Budget supermarket Aldi is set to release two new additions to its Lacura skincare line, offering budget-friendly alternatives to Glow Recipe’s popular Watermelon Glow serums.
Launching in stores on June 5, Aldi’s new Lacura Watermelon Serums come in two versions—Brightening and Bronzing—and are priced at just £4.99 for 55ml, compared to £32 for 40ml from Glow Recipe. That’s a cost saving of 84%, making them a timely option for beauty lovers navigating the cost of living crisis.
Beauty Trend: “Butter Skin” on a Budget
The new products are inspired by the latest skincare trend known as “butter skin”, which combines the radiant finish of K-beauty with deeply hydrating, skin barrier-boosting ingredients.
Aldi says the brightening serum will give skin a dewy, luminous glow, while the bronzing version adds a subtle sun-kissed tint. Both are infused with niacinamide and hyaluronic acid, mirroring the key ingredients found in Glow Recipe’s cult favourites.
“Aldi’s Watermelon Serums are formulated to deliver a plump, smooth finish that catches the light – without the shine,” a spokesperson for Aldi said.
More Skincare Launches Coming This Summer
In addition to the Watermelon Serums, Aldi is also rolling out more skincare essentials:
- BHA Clearing Cleanser (£1.99) – A gentle formula that targets blemishes, removes excess oil, and calms the skin.
- Lacura 2% BHA Toner (£4.49) – Returning after high demand, this product is widely regarded as a dupe for Paula’s Choice Exfoliating Toner. It helps exfoliate skin, reduce blackheads, and improve overall clarity thanks to its anti-inflammatory BHA content.
Aldi’s latest beauty drop reinforces its position as a go-to destination for high-performing skincare at a fraction of designer prices.
