The Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) has inaugurated an upgraded surgical unit at its eye hospital in Masulkar Colony, Pimpri, enhancing its capacity to deliver advanced ophthalmic care.
According to officials, the upgraded facility can now handle 30–35 eye surgeries per day, up from the previous capacity of 20–25. This increase is expected to significantly reduce patient waiting times and improve access to timely eye care for thousands of residents annually.
The new surgical equipment was donated by Cotmac Electronics Pvt Ltd as part of the company’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) efforts.
The Masulkar Colony Eye Hospital was originally established by the civic body in March 2023 to address the growing demand for quality ophthalmic services in the region.
