Prose has officially launched its first facility outside of New York, a 43,000-square-foot customization center located in Commerce, California. This move represents a key milestone in the company’s personalized beauty expansion, allowing it to better serve its growing customer base with custom hair, skin, and supplement products.
The new center is designed to meet the increasing demand for Prose’s custom products, powered by its proprietary AI platform, Singular. Following a strong performance in 2024, which saw a 29% growth and US$165 million in revenue, the company has invested US$9 million into this expansion. The California facility aims to replicate the automation and customization capabilities of Prose’s Brooklyn flagship, further enhancing the brand’s ability to meet customer needs.
Strategically located in the Los Angeles area, the new center will cut down shipping times for nearly half of Prose’s customers. Additionally, it will reduce emissions from downstream delivery by 50%, equating to a savings of 1.04 kilotons of CO₂ annually. The facility also boasts renewable energy systems, energy-efficient infrastructure, and low-waste, made-to-order manufacturing processes, aligning with the company’s sustainability goals.
This West Coast expansion underscores Prose’s commitment to scaling its AI-driven personalization model while staying true to its core values of sustainability. By bringing production closer to its rapidly growing customer base on the West Coast, Prose can enhance delivery speed, reduce environmental impact, and increase its overall capacity. These efforts are crucial as the company positions itself for continued growth across North America and aims to solidify its leadership in the custom beauty space.
