Nivea India has named Akshay Kawale as the new Business Unit Head – Derma, effective April 3, 2025. In his new role, Kawale will lead the operations of the Eucerin brand in India, focusing on driving growth in the country’s competitive skincare market.
Kawale brings with him over 16 years of experience in the pharmaceutical and beauty industries. He has held leadership roles at Glenmark Pharmaceuticals, Abbott, GlaxoSmithKline, and L’Oréal. Most recently, he served as Business Head – Cosmetology at Glenmark Pharmaceuticals, where he was responsible for shaping skincare business strategies.
At Nivea India, Kawale will steer the Derma business unit, with a clear focus on aligning Eucerin’s science-based skincare offerings with the specific needs of Indian consumers.
The appointment highlights Nivea India’s strategic push to strengthen its presence in the fast-growing derma skincare segment. By bringing in a seasoned leader with a strong consumer-centric and clinical approach, the company aims to expand Eucerin’s footprint and deliver tailored skincare solutions that resonate with the Indian market.
