Dr. Agarwal’s Eye Hospital in Qamarwari, Srinagar, has achieved a significant medical milestone by restoring the sight of a six-year-old boy with congenital cataracts in both eyes.
The delicate surgery was carried out by Dr. Shazia Shafi, a Senior Cataract and Glaucoma Surgeon. In an exceptional procedure, she performed the surgery on both eyes in a single sitting—an especially rare and intricate operation in pediatric cases.
Dr. Shazia attributed the success of the surgery to the advanced technology and the hospital’s modern infrastructure. She emphasized that these factors were crucial in ensuring accuracy and patient safety. “This case was especially challenging because of the child’s age and the cataracts in both eyes,” Dr. Shazia explained. “However, with the latest equipment and a skilled team, we were able to achieve a great outcome.”
Dr. Atif Ali Mir, the Medical Director of the hospital, praised the surgical team and congratulated them on their success. “This achievement highlights both our medical expertise and the trust patients place in us,” he said. The hospital remains a leader in providing advanced eye care, offering high-quality treatment to patients of all ages.
